Travis Richey is an entrepreneur and advisor who founded AccomplishED Ventures in 2013 to empower the inmates of the United States with life skills, education, job skills, entrepreneurial skills, and financial literacy. Born in the suburbs of Boston, MA, Travis had a very happening journey that led him to his destiny. From a tough childhood, his father struggled with drug addiction, and his mother worked hard to meet the ends. Thinking that getting a degree was his only way to transform his life, Travis got a scholarship and studied finance at the University of Miami. He started his career in finance, but life had other plans for Travis.
Travis was sentenced to 2 years in prison due to a regulatory oversight in the State of Arizona. Those two years completely changed his mindset and purpose for life. He realized the issues inmates face on a routine basis and how hard it is for them to succeed and make a living once they are out. AccomplishED Ventures mission is to educate the inmates and teach them everything necessary to live everyday life and gain financial independence. AccomplishED Ventures works with an in-person and tablet-based curriculum, including basic life skills, job skills, education, and financial literacy lessons.
Travis believes that every person has a unique purpose, and upon giving an opportunity to find that purpose, anyone can excel using their pain to pursue their purpose. In less than a decade, AccomplishED Ventures has become the biggest content provider in the United States. They have over 365,000 tablets across the nation with their curriculum as a part of prison teaching in 11 states.
With plans to reform the lives of inmates across the globe, Travis is not stopping here, and he aims to expand globally with a target of 1,000,000 tablets across the world. His work is changing the narrative of prison reforms and opening up the doors of various opportunities for the inmates in their future. It also gives them hope and provides them with another chance to fix their lives and be a better part of society. Travis wants to become the prison czar under the President of the United States to achieve his mission of changing the narrative around incarceration and providing hope and opportunity for millions of incarcerated individuals who really desire to change their lives.
