Born and raised in Ghana, Henry Coffie is an entrepreneur and fashion designer specializing in classic menswear tailoring and bespoke suit designing. In 2001 he arrived in Paris to live with his mother. This was after he had finished his high school education and had big hopes and dreams to become successful and do something that he loves. He arrived in Paris with the intention to look for greener pastures. His mother worked as a hairstylist in Paris for a span of fifteen years and he helped her in the saloon she was working in before he started to chase his own passion and dream.
Henry likewise worked with stores in Paris, for example, Yves Dorsey. In addition to this, he also worked in a menswear store called 3eme Stella Rosso Nicolas Massing London before he finally chose to move to America and seek after his dreams and aspirations in the States. Thus, he came to Philadelphia in 2017 with high expectations of becoming one of the top fashion designers in the country. Henry’s opened his first shop in May 2017. It was difficult for him to move from Europe to America and start from the very beginning. Nonetheless, he had a solid resolve and was determined to become successful. Thus, he started to build his client portfolio and network local nearby suit designers in Philadelphia to gain some insight into the American fashion industry.
When asked about what makes his business so unique, Henry states that the boldly patterned tuxedos are his signature style.
