After being a professional trainer and motivational speaker for the past 15 years, Bobby Umar is now focusing his mission on influencing people from all around the world. He uses his social media accounts to post content on topics like thought leadership, personal branding, public speaking, storytelling, building meaningful relationships, confidence, digital influence, and content creation. Now with over 650,000 followers across social media, Bobby tries his best to share his valuable knowledge and experience in multiple fields with his followers.
Even though the beginning of Bobby’s journey was hard as he started his business right when the recession hit, he still never lost the motivation to continue. As a result, slowly things started to fall into place for him. When Bobby did his first TEDx Talk in March 2011, he found the power of social media. Since then, he began working on his social media strategy. After investing 6 months of hard work into it, Bobby started getting speaking gigs on the basis of his leadership content. And within 18 months, he passed 100,000 followers. To further expand his reach, he leveraged the success of his 4 TEDx talks (at that time) and his 250k followers in order to start building opportunities through his speaker agent and on his own so that he can get the chance to travel around the world to speak. In 2013, he launched the DYPB (Discover Your Personal Brand) movement, through which he organized the largest personal branding conference for 5 years in a row. Because of his initiatives, Bobby soon became known as a LinkedIn influencer for which he was named one of the top 75 LinkedIn Influencers in 2018 (alongside Gary Vaynerchuk, among others) and in 2019 he was named one of the top 50 most Influential Men of LinkedIn.
Bobby’s list of awards and recognitions are proof of how he has successfully built up a strong social media presence over the years. To further expand his influence, he hopes to get on more TV shows as a contributor or pundit in his areas of expertise and interests. Bobby believes that there are many areas through which he can get on TV locally, including politics, parenting, Covid, entrepreneurship, careers, and so much more. In addition to that, while he works to expand his social media reach, he also hopes to get healthy and fit so that he can proudly take care of his family.
