What is the Art of Tantra?
Tantra is a spiritual philosophy that dates back to the 6th century AD and originated in the Indian subcontinent. Tantra literally means “to weave” in Sanskrit, and the art of Tantra has found its way from Hinduism to western culture. In the simplest terms, Tantra is all about gaining liberation and power through meditation. The tantric belief views the world as filled with divine feminine energy that if acquired, can help you achieve enlightenment.
How Exposure to the Art of Tantra Changed Amanda’s Life
Before her exposure to the art of Tantra, Amanda recalls her deep disconnection from her own body, pleasure, and sexuality. “I had a lot of shame in these areas, even though I had been a yoga teacher and dancer for years I was in my body and very much connected to my spirituality yet not at all integrated. It was through the path of Tantra and living/studying in India for nearly 3 years that I began to finally find a practice that combined all the things I had been studying and put them together; my physical being, spirituality, and my sexuality.”
Tantra enabled her to connect to her soul and embrace all this leading to deeper intimacy and meaningful relationships in all aspects of life. Relationships are not only physical but also require emotional cognition at a deep level.
Amanda Biccum aims to establish women’s connection to their bodies, their pleasure, and their sexuality.
