Abigail Rodriguez’s Background
Abigail is one of the five children of her parents who raised her in a rural farming community in western Ohio. She accredits her parents for her strong work ethic and productive nature. “My dad supported my family as an Engineer, but we lived on a farm and raised all sorts of animals like chickens, turkeys, goats, pigs, and sheep. My parents raised me with a strong work ethic as part of their personal values, but also because there was so much work around the farm that very practically needed to be done! By age 7, I was regularly mowing our 14-acre property, tending to livestock, helping with the maintenance of barns, tending to our garden, and anything else that was needed alongside the rest of my family.”
Abigail completed her Bachelors of Science in Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University. After graduation, she moved to Colorado with her husband and began a program on Masters of Art in Student Development from Geneva College. “This degree was the start of my decade-long career working in university settings with college students & young professionals as they were making sense of their lives, stepping into their vocations & becoming who they were meant to be. It was during my Student Development career that I came across the Enneagram”
Journey to being an Enneagram Practitioner
Abbi discovered the Enneagram in 2015 and instantly related to the teachings of this personal-development system. As she dug deeper into the wisdom of the Enneagram, she began to realize how incredibly accurate it was in evaluating her tendencies and behaviors. “As I became more competent in the Enneagram, I began to apply the Enneagram to my work as a supervisor & facilitator of professional development sessions. It completely changed the way I showed up in that professional space. I knew how to better support, empower, and challenge others because I understood their underlying motivations based on their Enneagram Type.”
After gaining a greater expertise in the field, she left her full-time job at the university and began her independent coaching practice as a certified Enneagram Practitioner.
