Shifting entirely to another country is most certainly a massive transition in one’s life. It wasn’t a lap of luxury for David either when he moved all the way to the United Kingdom, from his hometown, Gijon, Spain.
David Garcia Gonzalez is an Anglo-Spanish entrepreneur, author, business coach, and influencer. He moved to the United Kingdom in the mid-90s in search of his true passion and interest in languages and adventure. After finishing his BA (Hons) in TEFL and Computer Applications with Italian from The University of Essex, David started his Masters degree in Translation Studies (Legal and Political) only to realize how much he hates legal translation.
David chose to follow his heart and opted for an online master course in Audiovisual Translation from the Universitat Autònoma of Barcelona. He worked as a translator and voiceover talent for over ten years. In 2008, when he had recognized his true passion for languages and translation, he decided to start his own localization company, GoLocalise, offering translation and localization services. It was hard to create and establish a business in a foreign country, but David was a man of passion with extraordinary business skills in people management, marketing, and finance. In only fifteen years, he led his business to astounding heights of success. Today, GoLocalise has a broad range of clients from various sectors, including big transportation companies, production houses, and e-learning services. The company has over a thousand voiceover talents, subtitlers, and translators in over a hundred languages.
David grew as an entrepreneur and won many entrepreneurial awards. He became an active member of Entrepreneurs’ Circle, which is the brainchild of serial entrepreneur Nigel Botterill – and received substantial practical support, including marketing and mentoring advice which gave his business tremendous assistance. In an interview, David said, “ Entrepreneurs’ Circle has given me the confidence to be a better business leader and take GoLocalise to the next level nationally and internationally.”
To pass forward what he learned from his experience and the Entrepreneurs’ Circle, David made this his mission to help and empower other entrepreneurs to grow their business in the right direction. He also revealed his relentless struggles and exciting life journey in a light and amusing way in his best-selling book ‘Child-Biting, Chorizo And Chancing Your Arm.’ David promises dynamic and result-driven coaching services and support to entrepreneurs and hopes they enjoy their lives without worrying about their business.
