At CES 2020 in Las Vegas was presented Neon, the first “artificial human being” designed by Star Labs, Samsung’s laboratory. For the project leader, Pranav Mistry: “Neon is a new form of life”.
He is neither a robot nor a digital assistant like Alexa or Siri, but a realistic, intelligent and emotionally gifted human avatar.
In this video, Neons look and behave like real human beings showing emotions and intelligence. Despite being generated by a computer program they can be friends, collaborators, and companions.
Thanks to R3 technology, which uses artificial neural networks, it is difficult to tell whether we are looking at the face of a human or a Neon. The abbreviation R3 comes from three words starting with r in English: reality, realtime and responsive.

What are these Neons gonna do? They will communicate with human affections, learn from experience, form new memories. In short, they will understand, converse and sympathize like real human beings, bringing artificial intelligence forward.
